Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy

Takotsubo Cardiomypathy, a.k.a. Stress Cardiomyopathy or Broken Heart Syndrome, is characterized by dysfunction and apical ballooning of the left ventricle of the heart. The ventricle subsequently resembles a Japanese octopus fishing pot (Takotsubo). This condition is frequently associated with a stressful trigger, such as emotional stress, hence the name ‘Broken Heart Syndrome’. It has a similar presentation to acute coronary syndrome. Although I never count exactly how many pieces I cut out, this piece likely required 3500-4500 individual pieces to be cut out. To provide some additional context, the pendant and the rope around the vase required approximately 300 and 550 pieces to be cut out respectively.
